Our preschool days are built on real play, outdoor time and strong friendships. School readiness is woven through the everyday rather than taught at a desk.

Te Whāriki guides our planning, and our kaiako follow each child's interests to stretch their thinking.
Outdoors every day
Gardening, mud, water and loose parts. Tamariki take safe risks and build physical confidence.
Early literacy and maths
Counting, sorting, story telling, mark making and name recognition, all through play children choose.
Social skills
Sharing, turn taking, resolving disagreements and speaking up. The skills that matter most in a new entrant class.
Creative expression
Art, music, movement and dramatic play, with real materials and no adult made templates.
A day at Wonderhub preschool
Predictable rhythm, plenty of freedom
- 7:30am, arrivals, breakfast for early starters and quiet play
- Morning, self chosen play indoors and outdoors, group hui and kai
- Midday, cooked lunch together, then rest or quiet activities
- Afternoon, projects, outdoor play, story time and afternoon tea
- Until 6:00pm, calm play and unhurried handovers with your kaiako
Getting ready for school
In the year before school we add a gentle transition focus, so starting school feels exciting rather than daunting.
- A weekly lunchbox day so lunchboxes feel familiar before school
- Self help skills such as dressing, lunchboxes and toileting
- Listening in a group and following two step instructions
- Recognising and writing their own name
- Talking about their local school and visiting where possible
- A written learning summary you can share with their teacher

Meals included
Three meals a day, cooked here from scratch
No lunchboxes and no extra charges. Our cook prepares and bakes everything on site each day, and every child gets morning tea, a cooked lunch and afternoon tea, eaten together at the table.

Every meal and every bit of baking is made from scratch by our own cook in our kitchen, so children smell lunch being made and help set the table.
No extra cost, ever
Morning tea, a cooked lunch and afternoon tea are all included in your fees. Nothing is billed separately.
Allergies catered for
Dietary requirements, allergies and cultural preferences are planned for individually.
No lunchbox needed
No packing food the night before, apart from our weekly lunchbox day, which is part of our transition to school programme.
